Overview

Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines. This branch of engineering covers designing, manufacturing, operation and maintenance of Mechanical Systems viz. industrial equipment and machinery, motor vehicles, aircrafts, robots and much more. The Mechanical Engineering Department of the Institute is equipped with the state-of-art facilities to impart desired level of knowledge and technical skills for making the students capable of facing the challenges of present day industries. The department has good infrastructural facilities and the labs are well equipped. There is a CAD-CAM lab with latest softwares in order to train the students in the latest technology to deal with the problems related to mechanical design.

In this lab, CNC lathe trainer equipped with simulation software provides CNC programming skills to the students. In addition, the department has all labs as per the curriculum of the State Board. All the labs are designed to provide comfort and safety to the students. The Workshop, being the core facility, has modern equipment and machinery conforming to highest standards. It has been designed with absolute care to ensure safety while working. All the required machines and equipment are as per prescribed norms and standards. Workshop provides the students with hands-on experience on the machines.

Scope

There is a wide scope for mechanical engineering worldwide. Mechanical engineers are the second highest employed engineers among all others with only 7% unemployed whereas any normal engineering stream would have around 15% unemployed engineers worldwide. We have the automobile industry, oil and gas production companies, aeronautical field, cement industries, design sector, chemical industries, heavy machinery sector, information technology, defense and above all the booming construction field always waiting on for mechanical engineers with lucrative pays and packages.
