Electrical Engineering is a very broad field, ranging from all aspects of information processing, power production and power distribution. The main areas are Electrical Machines, Electrical Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Power Electronics, Communication Technology, Power Systems, Real Time Systems, Neural Networks and Fuzzy systems etc. Department of Electrical Engineering provides consummate knowledge and skills required for a successful career to the students. The department has established laboratories to provide adequate opportunities for the students to learn and innovate.

The Electrical Engineering Department provides its students a rigorous learning experience that prepares them for professional careers. In order to meet the mission of both the Institution and the Department. All the faculty members work to their fullest to achieve the educational objectives. The Department has competent and experienced faculty and supporting staff for effective teaching and laboratory works. Appropriate advanced level experiments and project works are offered to students.

Scope

Electrical Engineering finds its applications in power systems, control, traction, drives and a large number of domestic items and industries. The main responsibilities of electrical engineer are to design, develop and implement products and systems to high specifications, considering various aspects including economy, safety, reliability and quality etc. BHEL, Siemens, Power-plants, Electricity Boards etc are some of the major recruiters of electrical engineers.

Eligibility Criteria

» The candidate must have passed 10th Examination from H.B.S.E or recognized Board with 35% Marks.

Lateral Entry :-

» The candidate must have passed 10+2 Examination with PCM from H.B.S.E or recognized Board with 35% Marks.

» Candidates with atleast two year ITI course and must have passed 10th level school leaving examination before admission to ITI course.
